WHTJ’s “Charlottesville Inside-Out” snags Telly Awards

whtjwinstellyWHTJ Charlottesville PBS’s locally-produced show “Charlottesville Inside-Out,” hosted by Terri Allard, is a winner of two 29th Annual Telly Awards in the categories of “Talk Show” and “Cultural Video.”

Guests featured on the award-winning first season of “Charlottesville Inside-Out” included African drummer Darrell Rose; Monticello’s executive director Dan Jordan; world-champion juggler Mark Nizer; Charlottesville City Schools Superintendent Rosa Atkins and Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Wagner.

A news release from WHTJ notes that this is their fifth Telly Award. In 2005, WHTJ received a Telly Award for the nationally distributed “Wilder: An American First” produced in partnership with U.Va.’s Center For Politics. WHTJ’s other award-winning programs include “For the Record” which was produced for 15 years in partnership with the Miller Center at U.Va.; and “East of the Blue Ridge,” a series of local portraits including “Horses,” “Writers” and “Three Presidents.”

Produced from WHTJ’s studio on the Downtown Mall, “Charlottesville Inside-Out” features interviews conducted on-location at a place where the featured guest is most at home and in their element. “Charlottesville Inside-Out” airs on Thursday nights at 8:30 on WHTJ, channel 41, cable 200 and digital 41.2.
