Clear Channel sells six local stations for $7.75 million

Posted by bchapman on July 23, 2007

George Reed of Florida is buying six radio stations from “CC Licenses, LLC,” which is, comically, “a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of CC Broadcast Holdings, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel Broadcasting Licensees, Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Channel Holdings, Inc., which is wholly owned by Clear Channel Communications, Inc., a publicly-traded company,” according to a legal notice in the Progress and online industry reports. Reed’s company is “Sistema LLC.”

Sistema  is getting Country 99.7, Hot 101.9, SuperHits 102.3, Mix 107.5, News/Talk WCHV 1260, and  WKAV/1400.

Seems like radio stations are cheaper then they use to be.

Airport Authority flying with new ED

Posted by lbanner on July 5, 2007

There is a new Executive Director at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Authority. Announced July 3rd, Barbara Hutchinson, with the Airport since 1985, most recently serving as Director of Finance & Administration, will serve as the “Authority’s Chief Administrative Official, managing and directing the operations and affairs of the Airport Authority and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport.”

Which begs the question, what happened to the former ED Bryan Elliot? Turns out Mr. Elliot joined the County of Albemarle in a new position as Assistant County Executive for Community Services in April. That position came about with the retirement of Assistant County Executive Roxanne White, having served the County since July, 1986, and a realignment of responsibilities that positioned the other Assistant County Executive, Tom Foley, to oversee the Community Development, Human Resources, Finance and Information Technology departments.
